Our Learning
Our learning is based around exciting themes and big questions, adapted to suit younger children. These include:
• Who am I?
• What can I see in the world around me?
• How do things grow?
• What animals do I know?
• What makes me special?
• How can we help each other?
Children explore these ideas through play-based learning, stories, songs, outdoor exploration, and adult-guided activities. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), you can find more information here Early years foundation stage
Daily Learning Experiences
In Nursery, children will:
• Play and explore in different areas
• Build early language skills
• Begin early phonics through songs and rhymes
• Explore early maths through counting and sorting
• Develop independence
• Learn to make friends and share
Physical Development
We encourage active play every day through outdoor play and simple PE sessions.
Greenfingers
We explore our outdoor area, learn about nature, and enjoy planting and growing.
Stories & Early Reading
We share stories daily and encourage children to enjoy books at school and at home.
Class Organisation
Nursery children have access to their own class toilets to support independence and confidence in their daily routines. Each child also has their own tray to help them organise and store their belongings safely.
Home Learning
Families can support learning by reading together, talking about the day, and encouraging independence.
Our Aim
We aim for every child to feel happy, confident, and ready for the next step into Reception.
